About Adams & Adams

Adams & Adams has been in business since 1966. Founder Howard "Frog" Adams was still a science teacher in Corpus Christi when he graduated from the National Auction Institute in Bryan, Texas, and started the "family affair" business on a part-time basis. Frog did the Auctioneering, wife Kelly did the clerking, son Dusty helped set up and work the sales, and daughter Wendy registered the bidders.

In 1968 Dusty Adams graduated from the National Auction Institute. He was the First second-generation Auctioneer to attend Col. Walter Britten's Auction School and set sales records while auctioning at the school. Inspired to pursue the profession, Dusty was able to sell his own show animals at the Nueces County Livestock Show in 1969. He attended Texas A & I University in Kingsville and then joined Frog, who had retired from teaching, in the Auction business on a full-time basis in 1972.

Jason Wilson joined the Adams & Adams staff in 1999. In February of 2001,  he graduated from the Auction Academy in Frisco, Texas. Jason’s computer and auctioneering skills have increased the production and use of technology used by Adams & Adams.

As members of the National Auctioneers Association and the Texas Auctioneers Association, both Frog and Dusty have been recognized both at the state and national levels for their work in the Auction profession. Frog was selected as a charter member of the Texas Auctioneers Association "Hall of Fame" in 1987 and Dusty was inducted in 1993. Dusty attended the Certified Auction Institute at Indiana University in 1993-1996 and upon graduation, his extensive Auction Summary Report was judged tops in his class. He became the first Auctioneer from Texas to receive this distinguished award. Both Frog and Dusty believe in continuing education and have not only attended but have also helped conduct various classes and seminars for Auction and appraisal certification.

Successfully conducting over 1,890 Auctions in 5-decades, Adams & Adams maintains a very extensive mailing list of aggressive buyers that now numbers above 30,000. They have conducted Auction sales for the Small Business Administration in both the Corpus Christi and San Antonio Districts since the mid-1970s. Adams & Adams has been U. S. Bankruptcy Court (Southern & Northern District) approved for the past 30-years. Adams & Adams was also the first Auction Company to conduct an IRS Public Auction in the state of Texas. Today Dusty and Jason continue to handle all business liquidations, heavy equipment, and estate auctions, while Frog focuses primarily on Real Estate. Adams & Adams are full-time Auctioneers with a full-time staff and can handle your Auction needs professionally and efficiently.
